Access To Great Fishing in Our Area

From our properties to this in just two hours!

Two hours to the west of this property is the huge Fort Peck Reservoir.  This reservoir provides excellent fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout and many other game fish.  Boat docks and marinas are available at various points around the reservoir for launching your boat.  If you would like, day trips are available from outfitters who provide the boat and all the equipment for a fantastic experience.  It doesn’t have to be all boat fishing either.  If you want, you can just park your camper by the shore, set up your lawn chair and cast away.  Fort Peck has hundreds of miles of shoreline so there is no need to put up with a “neighbor” if you don’t want to.   Often times during the week you will be virtually by yourself at most docks.

More than 50 different kinds of fish swim in Fort Peck Reservoir, Montana’s largest body of water. The lake is about 134 miles in length and has a maximum depth of 220 feet when full. There are over 1,600 miles of shoreline and the water surface area is approximately 240,000 acres. The reservoir was created from 1933 through 1937 by constructing a 3.8 mile-long dam across the Missouri River. Some of the hotly pursued species include walleye (a priority among the serious anglers!), northern pike, paddlefish, sauger, lake trout, small mouth bass and chinook salmon.

Fort Peck Reservoir holds

  • the world record for saugeye at 15.66 pounds,
  • the co-world record for sauger at 8.75 pounds
  • Montana state record for walleye at 16.63 pounds
  • smallmouth bass at 6.66 pounds.
